Data Selfie: B.Denise Diaz
This project focused on self-tracking data centered around me, B.Denise Diaz. Specifically, the data selfie overall focuses on two activities and one factor involved in both activities. The data selfie isn't just connected to one another because they're done at once, I designed the data selfie with graphics of my own interest, using centipedes and the creepy to connect it all together visually as well.

Remarkable Landmarks
For this project, I designed an infographic poster on the Saint Peter's Basilica, which is one of the largest churches to exist in the planet. Saint Peter's Basilica has existed for thousands of years and has been rebuilt. I decide to focus on the recreated version of the basilica. I wanted to focus on the architecture and the history of the building, while bringing light to who Saint Peter is. A basilica like poster couldn't be simple, so I decided to bring life to the ornamental style of basilicas into my design.

Event, Environment & Plan: Gloomy Bloomy
This project was an experimental graphic design type of work, so for this project it wasn't just about making a brand alone. This project focused more on the dimensions of designing a kiosk and an event for the brand. As much as I had a few interesting ideas, I ultimately decided to go with a gothic floral brand. Many people already love flowers, especially when they are customized and tailored to the special person receiving them. Hence, to symbolize roses (common in gothic and floral culture) and the gift of giving, I used red as my secondary color to black. To add to that romantic gothic theme, I went with a semi modern medieval transcript for the design of the guidebook, and for the kiosk and environment plan they had a more greenhouse floral design in mind.

Awareness Poster & App Icon
This project was intended to raise awareness to any topic that we students found either interesting or wanted to focus on. The topic that I wanted to focus on was Sexual Assault Awareness. If you look online, most of the posters about Sexual Assault Awareness are very corporate coded and do not convey the intense emotions of something very serious. My take on the project was to make the designs of these posters much more human and emotional. In a world where victims of sexual assault are often silenced and shamed, my design was created to sympathize with these victims and the emotions they feel after something very traumatic. I wanted it to feel raw and much less corporate.

Skolos & Wendell Book Cover
The Skolos & Wedell Project was a project designed to depict a book describing the story of Nancy Skolos and Thomas Wedell and how the two came together. The writing itself was based off an article regarding them. This book design shows my interpretation of how an ideal book would look like. I used some of their designs as heavy inspiration.

Design for Change: The Horrors of ICE Detention Centers
For this project, I wanted to make an Infograph on ICE detention centers and the cruelty and abuse that happens. Since Trump stepped into office and has had ICE agents detain people, on a 3,000 arrests quota expectation a day, many people who have been detained are often times racially profiled and are U.S. citizens. Detention centers have stopped reporting the conditions and the status of the detainees, so my infograph is designed with showing how terrible the conditions are and how the few information out there is leaked.

Famous Couples Book Cover
The Famous Couples Booklet was a project where I designed a booklet based off a famous couple, whether that be a fictional couple or non fictional. All that was required was that the couple was well known. A popular couple I've seen people often relate themselves to is Jack and Sally Skellington, hence, I decided to go with them. This project explores what a mixture of the two couples would look like together united.
